This test measures IgG/IgM antibodies associated with exposure to Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria linked to Lyme disease. The laboratory assay screens for antibody reactivity to two Borrelia antigens:
Anti-Borrelia VlsE1 IgG/IgM antibodies
Anti-Borrelia pepC10 IgG/IgM antibodies
These antibody markers may help support evaluation of possible Lyme disease exposure when interpreted together with symptoms, tick exposure history, and other clinical information.
